Meet Kathy Oxborrow

Kathy has a very eclectic background that enhances her approach to helping clients achieve their goals. She has produced television programs, staffed political campaigns, organized public involvement campaigns, written grants, evaluated grant-funded programs, advocated for programs and legislation, developed strategic plans, designed and delivered training programs, mediated disputes and written free-lance articles on community and public policy issues. Kathy currently is a correspondent for the Bend Bulletin and writes articles on a variety of topics.

As a television producer, she worked with public officials, neighborhood groups and citizens to create public affairs programs. She produced programs for both the ABC and NBC affiliates in Portland, Oregon and started cable television coverage of the Portland City Council meetings. Both her broadcast and cable programs have been nominated for national awards.

Kathy has designed and delivered training programs for corporations, government agencies and non-profit boards and organizations. Her favorite subject is “Using Creative Thinking to Solve Problems,” which she has presented to a variety of groups including police officers, utility employees and community groups.

A successful grant writer, Kathy has secured funding from federal, state and local governments, corporations and foundations. She emphasizes developing grant proposals with measurable outcomes.

Kathy is also an associate of Davis, Hibbits & Midghall, Inc., a public opinion research firm in Portland, Oregon. In that capacity, she does research and planning projects for DHM clients.

Kathy has a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Cum Laude, in Urban Studies from San Francisco State University and has done graduate work in Broadcast Communications at San Francisco State University. She has received training in group process, meeting facilitation, mediation and designing and delivering training programs.

Because she has a strong commitment to community service, Kathy has served on the boards of directors of many organizations. She mediated restitution agreements between juvenile offenders and their victims and was a volunteer mediator for a neighborhood mediation center. Throughout her career and community service, she has used her energy and expertise to be an effective agent for change and problem solving.

Kathy lives in the country outside of Sisters, Oregon and enjoys riding her horse, Sara.
