Researching funding sources and writing grant proposals for various projects including community trails development, youth programs and recreational amenities.
Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation — Warm Springs, Oregon
Conducted in-person interviews with Tribal Council members and community leaders concerning views about Tribal economic development. Analyzed results and prepared a written report.
Northwest Area Foundation — St. Paul,
Minnesota
Researched Oregon planning activities, over a ten-year period, in Deschutes,
Jefferson and Crook Counties and the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs
Reservation. Reviewed economic, social and environmental planning documents for
common themes and regional approaches and prepared written a report.
Oregon Secretary of State Phil
Keisling — Salem, Oregon
Conducted research and mapping analysis for 1991 legislative redistricting.
Assisted with communications that affected county clerk offices and with
constituents affected by redrawing of district boundaries.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon — Redmond, Oregon
Researched funding sources and wrote grants to support after-school programs in
three Central Oregon Counties; secured two million in grants.
Healing Reins — Bend, Oregon
Worked with this therapeutic riding program for children and adults with
disabilities to develop a grant proposal to increase the capacity of the
organization and to conduct board development and training.
Upper Deschutes Watershed Council — Bend,
Oregon
Wrote grants to support Council activities to restore rivers within the
watershed and to improve water quality.
Washington State Community, Trade and
Economic Development — Olympia, Washington
Wrote a grant to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to establish a
program for private and public utility energy rate discounts for low-income
people in Washington.
Longview Police Department — Longview,
Washington
Wrote a grant, funded by the U.S. Department of Justice, to develop a stress
prevention program for police officers and their families.
Portland Community College — Portland,
Oregon
Wrote a grant, funded by the Regional Strategies Board, to provide workplace
safety training programs for limited English-speaking employees in the high tech
and metal industries.
Oregon Health Decisions — Portland, Oregon
Wrote a grant, funded by the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, to involve citizens
in ethical issues in health care.
